Random Tidbits from My Life

March always seems to be a very busy month, and this March has been no exception.  Between club meetings, extra projects, schoolwork, going home for a weekend, and a visit from a friend, I haven’t had time for much else.

It’s officially spring now, but other than the snow melting, you wouldn’t guess it.  Yesterday was frigid (although sunny), and today is still pretty cold.  At least it has been sunny the past few days.  The snow is almost completely gone now, but we got a bit more this morning (which thankfully didn’t stick).  Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 40s, so I’m hoping to get outside and enjoy the nice weather.  I’d like to go for a hike, but I’m not sure I’ll have the time, so a walk or run might have to suffice.

I’m president of the yearbook club and the yearbook is due tonight, so I will be spending the late afternoon and night working on that.  We were informed three weeks ago that it had to be done by tonight, so we’ve been working hard on getting it done.  We had to leave out some stuff we normally include, but I think it’s come together quite nicely considering the last minute notice.

I’ve also been working on preparing things for an exhibit and mini-presentation on integrating art into curriculum as part of our college’s annual month-long celebration of the arts (called Arts Alive).  The exhibit and presentation will be next Monday, so that will be over soon.

We are two weeks out from finals week now.  I have many, many assignments to complete in that time.  It’s definitely crunch time!  One of those assignments involved interviewing people about art and filming it.  We did some of the filming this morning.  I think we were pretty successful.  We might need to do some additional filming, but so far, I think we have a good start.  I also have 5 short papers to write for 19th Century Art- they are supposed to be creative, which is challenging for me, but I’m happy with what I’ve come up with so far.  The one I’m currently working on is about the Barbizon School of Art.  I’ve enjoyed researching the Barbizon School and creating a story based on it.

One of my best friends finally visited me this past weekend.  She took me shopping and got me my birthday/Christmas presents- One Good Deed a Day: A Journal and some very needed (and cute!) sunglasses.  We had fun catching up.  I’m going to try to do one good deed from the book each day.

What have you been up to?  Anything fun?  Is March always busy for you too?
