All pictures were taken on my skiing trip through the woods.
I’m currently almost three weeks in to the second semester of my freshman year of college, and I’m already feeling a little overwhelmed. I have had a lot more homework and a lot less time than last semester. The workload isn’t terrible, it is certainly still manageable, but I feel like it takes a lot longer and I have much less free time. That isn’t really a bad thing, as I frequently got bored last semester, but it has taken some getting used to. I have also gotten very little sleep. So this past weekend it was nice to get away and go home for a couple of days.
My brother leaves to go back to college this coming weekend, and because our vacation schedules don’t match up, I won’t see him again until June, so that was partly why I decided to go home. It was also nice to eat some home-cooked meals, go to my sister’s basketball game, hang out with my family, relax, and get outside. I didn’t get any homework done, which I paid for when I returned Sunday evening, but it was worth it.
On Saturday, I went cross country skiing with my mom, brother, and sister. I don’t downhill ski, but I usually enjoy cross country skiing. For some reason, I just wasn’t feeling it on Saturday. Let’s just say I almost went back, but then decided to continue on (the rest were way ahead of me by this point since I stopped for a bit). I didn’t know the trail circled, so I figured I would meet the rest once they turned around. Turns out I was wrong about that, which meant I did the rest of the trail by myself (and my mom, upon returning to the car, figured I had turned back, so went to find me on her skis and ended up doing the entire loop twice- good thing she loves to exercise and ski!). Despite a pretty hard fall, it was really peaceful in the woods, and I enjoyed most of it.
Luckily, this week has been a little bit easier, and I finally had a little bit of free time yesterday.
Have a wonderful next two days and enjoy the weekend!!
