For those of you who don’t already know, I am taking a drawing class this semester. I just realized I haven’t shared any of my drawings yet. My first drawing was a string of pearls. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures of that one (and I’m too lazy to take any right now). We then did a three-object still-life based on a photograph. I did a drawing of a sneaker, ribbon, and watch (all track objects). It is in graphite. Luckily for you, I do have a photo of that.
I made some minor changes to it yesterday before putting it in an art show, but for the most part, it still looks exactly like this. It was based off the photograph shown below:
Our most recent assignment was in charcoal and was of one (or both) of our hands in an interesting composition with something additional (in our class, one girl did tattoos, others held items, etc.). I don’t have a picture of that one either because I fixed it yesterday and it’s currently hanging in a gallery, so I don’t have access to it right this second. However, I was really happy with how it turned out. I found charcoal to be much harder to work with than graphite, but it looks so much better when it’s done. Next up is a self-portrait. We all ended up choosing to use a photograph in which we each have an intriguing expression on our face, we’re nicknaming the assignment “What Face is That?!”, or WFIT. I’ll share my hand drawing and self-portrait as soon as I can get pictures/finish the drawing!
